Jakes 16!, Lochs Levin Lakes #2

Happy Birthday to You, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dearrr Jaaaake, happy birthday to you!
Jake's 1st night out of the hospital. Yes, he is sleeping in a suit case!
Home to Kingman for the 4th of July, on his mamma's lap.
May 1995, almost 1!
Jake at Nanny's, his Great Great Grandmother Heap, in Johns AZ April 1996
Jake at about 3 with his 2nd cousin Whitney and his favorite blanket.

Party time!
A quite little celebration at home. Just like he wanted it. Mom wanted to throw a sweet 16 bash with a D.J. and everything in the back yard but he wanted NOTHING to do with it. Silly boy!
My, what cute kids these are!
The presents. Silly boy, he really didn't' want much of anything for his birthday either.
A 120 min calling card and a radio receiver to put on his MP3 player so he could use it in the old truck he is going to be driving is all he asked for.
Roger found a bull whip that he knew Jake would love and I found a bow I thought he would enjoy.

Loch Levin Lakes, Round 2!
As posted earlier, we went on a hike to Loch Levin Lakes over Memorial Day weekend and were only able to hike around in the snow. So for the 4th of July we went a back to see what was buried below all of the white stuff.
The trip getting there was an adventure since we went on Monday the 5th and all of the Lake Tahoe visitors were trying to go home! Ugh, the traffic was horrid. For about 20 miles we were just at a crawl on the freeway and poor Jake was driving. I guess it was good experience for him but I had white knuckles for most of the trip.

Once we got there is was worth it though.
The trail was very rugged and pretty tough, but these 2 little boys did amazing!
The trail basically just followed a "sometimes" dried stream bed. Often it went straight up requiring climbing up rocks hand over hand.
The cold snow melt was a great way to refresh out tired feet.
We finally made it to the 1st of the 3 lakes and took a nice little break.
Ah, cookies! Yummy!!!!
Maddie taking a break.
Ooo wee, yuck mom and dad!
The long trail down.
Just some of the boulders we climbed around.
More of the rocks!
I think the tracks were about the half way point.
Madisyn was not thrilled with idea of going hiking again, and I think this was probably one of the few smiles that favored her fair face. Poor thing, being in this family of boys.
