Until,l I got home that is. All day Monday he just kept blinking and blinking. I thought it might be a tick or hopefully just an allergy to Grandpa and Grandma's dog. As the day went on the blinking just kept going and I finally decided to call the Dr. As soon as the doctor saw him he said he had a tick.
Yup, I was right. I learned a couple of interesting things, one is that it can be caused by strep throat, they tested but he didn't have it and also that blinking is one of the most common ticks. They can be short term, under a year, or lifetime ticks. And the hardest part is that there is nothing that can be done about it. As I thought, it can be brought o by stress. i.e. Mom leaving for 10 days. So the plan of action is to just ignore the behavior and not give him attention so that it does not become a habit on top of an uncontrollable muscle tick.

I'm teaching a kid this year who has a tick just like that. It was really bad when he first started the year, but he doesn't do it much anymore. I think a lot of it was stress related. I think you are smart to just see how it goes. Dang those kids-they just keep you worrying about one thing or another.
Yeah, he isn't doing it at all now. So it appears to be more of a stress thing than anything else.
Awh Bless his heart. Give him lots of hugs and kisses from me.
SO WE HAVE A NEW PERSON TO CALL BLINKY.JUST KIDDING
